The huge mountains of sandstone and sheer-sided granite emerge from wide sandy valleys that reach heights of 1700 meters and more.
Narrow canyons and fissures cut deep into the mountains, many conceal ancient rock drawings etched by the peoples of the desert over millennia.
The Bedouin tribes still live among the mountains of Rum and their large goat-hair tents are a special feature of the landscape.
There are many ways to enjoy the beauty of Rum, including jeep, camel + hiking tours. The adventurous can stay overnight in a Bedouin tent, gazing at the amazing plethora of stars.
To safeguard its unique desert landscape, Wadi Rum was declared a protected area in1998 with an intensive conservation program now underway.
Wadi Rum is believed to have gotten its name from the early name of Iram of Pillars, a lost city or region mentioned in the Qur'an
There is a jeep tour starting from two hours to a full day, and we can provide food upon request by the customer. Each jeep tour can be either a sunrise or a sunset tour.
During the 2 hour jeep tour, we will see the seven pillars of wisdom, beautiful sand dunes , Alameleh Inscriptions, Siq Um Tawaqi, and Siq Lawrence.
The 3 hour jeep includes The Seven Pillars of Wisdom, Siq Um Ashreen, sand dunes, Siq Um Tawaqi, Siq Lawrence, and Anfashieh inscriptions.
The 4 hour jeep tour includes The Seven Pillars of Wisdom, Siq Um Ashreen, sand dunes, Siq Um Tawaqi, Siq Lawrence, Anfashieh inscriptions, Lawrence house, and the Rock bridge.
The 5 hour jeep tour includes The Seven Pillars of Wisdom, Siq Um Ashreen, sand dunes, Siq Um Tawaqi, Siq Lawrence, Anfashieh inscriptions, Lawrence house, the Rock bridge, and Burrah canyon.

If you love hiking, you will enjoy wandering in the desert of Wadi Rum. We are here to guide you to amazing locations in Wadi Rum. Please see below for the different hiking programs to choose from. Minimum of 2 people per tour is required.
We will meet you at your Wadi Rum camp or at the Visitor Center.
We will start with the Seven Pillars of Wisdom and then we will walk through a large canyon towards the ancient Nabatean inscriptions. We will continue to Lawrence canyon before returning to our starting place.

We begin the full day hike going through the Lawrence’s Siq to head towards Umm Asheran Mountain. We will stop here to bask in this incredible desert while drinking Bedouin tea.
We continue our hike through the Umm Al-Shreen Siq towards the sands of Umm Ajal to watch and feel the beautiful red sands of Wadi Rum. We will have lunch in Umm Ajal.
After lunch we will walk towards Umm Al-Tuwaq and return to our starting point.
We will meet you at your Wadi Rum camp or at the Visitor Center.
For this hike we will leave the visitor's center and hike towards the Mount of the Seven Pillars of Wisdom. We will pass through the Seven Pillars of Wisdom mountain chain through a small canyon that cars cannot reach. We then hike towards Mount Umm Ashereen and to the Umm al-Tuwaqi overlook. Next we will head to Lawrence’s canyon before returning to our starting place.
Sand dunes: large area of sand dunes piled up against the mountains with desert adapted plants. The Sand Dunes are fun to climb to the top and easy to slide down.
Rock bridge: A spectacular natural rock arch, with great views. It is possible to climb up to the Rock bridge and stand on top of the bridge, if you are brave enough.
Burrah canyon: A long, deep canyon between dramatic mountains with lots of sand in places. Very beautiful in early morning and in the late evening, when the sun turns the rock deep orange.
Alameleh Inscriptions: good example of ancient rock drawings, showing camels and wildlife.
Seven Pillars of Wisdom: A famous landmark, named after the book by T. E. Lawrence (Lawrence of Arabia).
Siq Um Tawaqi: A short canyon containing a carving of the head of T. E. Lawrence.
Anfashieh inscriptions: this mountain is famous for its formations and inscription. Anfashieh has numerous Thamudic and Nabataen inscriptions, next to it drawings of animals, humans, and camel caravans.
Sunset sites (Al Ghuroub ): Includes different locations depending on which season of winter or summer. Visitors can enjoy a spectacular sunset, leaving behind the stresses from work and enjoy the serenity of the rum.
